“So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.”
(Ephesians 5:28-33) “Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more. For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.” (Isaiah 54:4-5) "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their words; that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that they world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me." (John 17:20-23) Bone and Breath Man was not spoken into existence as were all the other things He was formed from the dust of the earth and became a living being Woman was built from the rib of the man, taken from out of his chest Intertwined from the beginning, connected through bone and breath Oneness was never meant to be a thing we could never attain But rather an easy outflow, like sweet sunshine after gentle rain We strive to comprehend the mystery, the two becoming one We fail to see the beauty; marred by what we have become An altar is a proper place to enter a covenant so deep and true For a sacrifice is surely made: the creating of one, the dying of two All we are must be done away, consumed by Love’s great fire So the rib can re-enter the man, and fulfill what God truly desires We are bone of His bone, and flesh of His flesh, a Bride rare and true Oh, if only we understood the beauty which His great love ensued! When we stand before our soul’s mirror to be joined forevermore We come as two, but enter as one, over the threshold through the Door... So beautiful for February, the month focused on love. IF only we could grasp the Greatest Love of our heavenly Father and love one another.
