"A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee's house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them." (Luke 7:37-38)
Beyond What They See In the breaking aroma pours forth Seeping through cracks which pain has wrought It flows into the room as I step inside The scent of a woman with much to hide I have hidden in darkness I have hidden in flesh I have hidden my heart in a place of death I feel their eyes I sense their disdain The aroma permeates aching to remain I stand behind Him no turning back now Falling at His feet tears stream down Worship's weight bows draping His feet with my hair This man, this Lord see me lovely and fair Not as I have been Not as I was Drenched in murky sin never knowing love My shame overwhelming I yield my perfume A sinful woman made holy The scent of grace floods the room...
